Day 3 Behaviour

Hello everyone,

Today we focus on behaviour.  There are readings and visual resources, as well as, some fun online activities.

Two interesting articles crossed my desk This pawing is not impatience (such as when you take too long to find the treat bag!)

I especially appreciate the quote:

Horses seldom do something that doesn’t have a purpose,” said Katherine Houpt, VMD, PhD, Dipl. ACVB, professor emerita at Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in Ithaca, New York. “And that purpose isn’t to be annoying!”

The comment at the end of this one really resonated with me:  “The measure of a good horseman or woman and manager should be the level of overall contentment of the horses in their care, not how many competition successes they have achieved”
