End of Week 2!

Hi Everyone,

We have now reached the end of Week 2 of our course.  It has been great getting to know you and sharing this learning journey with you.  By completing this course, you now have a good grounding for the management of health and welfare, and there may be new information for those who have been caring for horses.  It is an area that is exciting and interesting as there are many new things to learn and ways to improve our care of horses with all the research that continues to come out of places like the University of Guelph and other research-intensive universities.

We have had some great conversations and discussions, so I encourage everyone to read through these if you have not had time to participate in the discussions.  And of course, the portal will stay open for a few weeks longer so that you can go back and review some things, download and save some articles and more.  Don’t forget to finish each unit and mark as completed, if you have finished all quizzes and activities so that you can get your certificate of completion.

What’s next?  For those that are interested in continuing on with your learning journey, I warmly invite you to check out the upcoming courses on TheHorsePortal for short courses on different but important topics.  As well, when you are ready to dive deeper and gain more knowledge, Equine Guelph partners with OpenEd to offer our 12 week courses.  These can be taken as a single course, or you can continue to build towards UofG Certificates and Diplomas and add to your resume the higher qualifications in Equine Science, Welfare and/or Business studies.

I wish you all the best in your future equine endeavours and invite you to stay in touch with Equine Guelph by signing up for our e-news to hear about new research and information.

All the best to each of you!

Gayle
