Welcome to Day 12 – The Action Plan!

If we own horses for some time, chances are we will see colic on one or more occasions.  Prevention can make a difference to the majority of horses, but there are times when there are unexplained colics and there may have been little that could be done for prevention in some of these cases.  However, being prepared for colic is one of the best things you can do for your horse.  We cannot be watching our horses every minute of the day, so this unit gives you some things to think about as you prepare your plan.  Do you have a relationship with an equine veterinarian?  Do you know how the insurance coverage for your horse relates to colic issues?  Do you and your staff know what to do?  Are all the phone numbers of the vet, owners, helpers, and others available and posted?

This unit will help you work through these questions and more, so that you are prepared and knowledgeable about what to do next.  And join in with our guest speakers this week!
