Welcome to Week 5! Fire Prevention Week

Hi Everyone, welcome to Week 5.

We are now in week 5 of the course, and just wanted to be sure that everyone is keeping on track for time. You should be finished or well into Unit 4 by this week, and have completed Units 1, 2, and 3. So, if you are a bit behind, do not worry but rather just try to find more time to complete your activities to catch up in order to keep yourself on track.  This week we have our special guest, Dr. Nicole Weidner joining us to talk about equine nutrition!  Nicole has her PhD in Nutrition and couples that knowledge with her many years of horse ownership.  Join us at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21 for an interesting presentation, now that you have been introduced to anatomy and feeding, this should help you pull it all together.

This is also an important week for you to learn about fire safety, for yourself and for the horses. Next week, we will have Dr. Susan Raymond as our guest to talk about Fire Prevention in the barn, keeping yourself and your horses and coworkers safe as well as dispelling some myths along the way. Dr Raymond will join us on Wednesday, May 29, at 10:00 a.m., so be sure to block that time to join us live.
