Course Goals:

  • Outline a pathway to a career in the horse industry
  • Learn the basic horse care positions in the industry which can provide entry-level or long-term employment
  • Understand the progression of careers as one advances in a job/jobs
  • Explore both “hands-on with horses” career options, as well as those careers which are not “hands-on”, yet are an important part of the industry

  3. Careers in the Goods and Services Sectors
  4. Sales Rep, Research Assistant, and Program Coordinator

  8. Horse Show and Event Planner
  9. Horse Health Care Careers

Time Commitment:

  • 10-20 hours total time commitment to complete the course

  • No set times to be online
  • Course is entirely online, so travel to the University of Guelph is NOT required
