Official recruitment and training is vital to the sustainability of our sport especially at the entry level.  The goal of the Provincial Foundations Officials Course is to provide opportunities for members across the province to be trained and be recognized as an Official.

Five provincial equestrian associations have partnered with Equine Guelph to offer online training for those interested in becoming horse show judges in grass roots circuits:

  1. Equestrian Nova Scotia*
  2. Alberta Equestrian Federation
  3. Island Horse Council
  4. Manitoba Horse Council
  5. Newfoundland & Labrador Equestrian Association

*The course content is based on an innovative online training model provided by Equestrian Nova Scotia (ENS) on TheHorsePortal.ca. You will see references to ENS/Scotia Series in the videos. Please check the course materials which will be flagged for differences amongst individual provincial rules.

There are two types of officials:

  1. Foundations Judge, and
  2. Discipline-Specific Judge
